IHow did you select the canals you walked? It's a long process done in conjunction with the BBC. We wanted to try and cover a fair spread of the country which isn't easy with four walks. 2 How did they compare to your other walks? They have a much more relaxed feel and there is more interaction with people. You can spend hours in the Lake District and not meet a soul. 3 What do you think of people on the canals? I think they have an enviable lifestyle and the ultimate freedom - being able to move whenever you want.
