We have just come back to the boat after a most relaxing few days with friends 'on the bank'. Their cottage, on the north Suffolk coastline, immediately filled me with house envy. Situated on the edge of a tourist route village, it has every feature that we will one day be looking for when we retire from boating. They even have an allotment to make up for the fact that the garden is a bit small for growing vegetables.
