It's hard enough trying to get the design of a narrowboat right when you're doing it purely for yourself, what with coming up with a layout that works, making crucial decisions on what goes where and sorting out the style of fit-out. So imagine how much more thought you'd need to put into the job if the boat was to be shared by two families. That's the challenge that business partners Pete Ryder and Dave Wareham set themselves with Knot@Work. "We wanted maximum flexibility of accommodation," says Pete. "Dave has got grown up children, mine are younger. So we've come up with a boat that can easily sleep six, or even eight if necessary. But we also wanted to keep it stylish and uncluttered."
