Suggestions that the Kennet & Avon Mooring Strategy Steering Group (MSSG) has been unilaterally 'scrapped' have been denied by BW, which says that it will continue to seek feedback from MSSG members. The group was set up as a pilot for involving users in establishing local strategies for mooring charges, visitor moorings and overstaying, where there was seen as being pressure on space. Despite some differences of opinion, meetings were held regularly until October 2011, when BW issued a 'progression document' saying that there would be no more. Steering group member and NABO Council member Andrew Colyer, writing on the K&A Times online magazine website, said that "just as we were about to get to the point where the serious work was to be on the table, we are told that we are not needed".
