KINGS NORTON CLEANUP

A joint initiative between five waterway organisations saw dozens of people converge on King's Norton Junction in November for a canal clean-up weekend. The event was organised by local IWA branches, supported by canal societies and CRT who provided equipment and a work boat, plus volunteers from cubs and scouts and community groups. They cleared litter and vegetation in all three directions from the junction, painted railings, signs and gates, and removed a boatload of rubbish from the canal.
