I enjoy the back cabin cooking section, I always find Vicky's recipes easy to follow and extremely tasty. I read with interest about her accident (CB, December) and it reminded my of an accident I experienced. It happened on the Wigan flight about 15 years ago. My brother and I were guiding our hire boat into a lock using lines because of strong crosswinds. As the boat entered the lock the bow line got caught on the lock gear. Unfortunately, my brother had wrapped the bow line around his hand in order to get a better grip. The result was several tonnes of canal boat pulling my brother's hand against the lock gear and ripping off his finger.
