NEW MOORING RINGS, water points, sanitary and rubbish facilities are among improvements made recently to London's canals as the Canal & River Trust tries to meet the needs of record numbers of boaters on the capital's canals. The improvements made during the 2016-17 year include adding: 1.125 more mooring rings 2.Sanitary station and pump-out at Alperton 3.Over a mile of dredging alongside the bank to facilitate mooring in Southall, plus shorter lengths in West Drayton and Hayes 4.Water taps at Southall, Ponders End and Paddington 5.14 new long-term berths on the Lee, Grand Union and Limehouse Cut The Trust has also provided logistical support for 'Bins by boat', a floating rubbish collection service run as a social enterprise.
