Well that worked! Two months after my editorial bemoaning the dry winter and the prospect of low water levels for 2018, the rains pours down and the Leicester line reopens! It seems pretty obvious that if we get a bit of rain, the water levels rise - but in truth, it's not quite that straightforward. Firstly, what's the state of the aquifers: if they are depleted, they need time to refill and we don't see much benefit above ground - sometimes for months.
