When it came to preserving the banks of a popular waterway in the East Midlands, the services of marine civil engineering specialists The Rothen Group (TRG) were enlisted. This project required preventative measures to be implemented to minimise erosion of the canal banks and ensure waterway traffic could easily pass through. The 32-mile Chesterfield Canal runs from the River Trent at West Stockwith in Nottinghamshire through Retford and worksop into South Yorkshire (and one day, will continue to Chesterfield in Derbyshire).
