Sleaford Navigation Trust's plans for restoration of this Lincolnshire river-based navigation have taken a step forward with moves to work with North Kesteven District Council on a scheme to reopen the towpath as a cycleway, in advance of the long-term aim of reopening the navigation. The route would connect with the Water Rail Way (a cycleway based on a former railway which ran alongside the River Witham from Boston to Lincoln), and the National Lottery Heritage Fund is seen as a potential source of funding.
