The election of two liveaboard boaters, an active boat club member and boat handling trainer, and the owner of the same boat for almost half a century, have ensured that boater representation on the Canal & River Trust's governing body will cover a wide spectrum of boating backgrounds and interests for the next four years. The successful candidates in the elections for the four representatives of private boating on the charity's Council are: 1. Tim Allen, active member of a boat club, with charity experience outside of the waterways, and also an RYA trainer (using his boat under a roving trader licence), as well as a member of the Royal Yachting Association's inland navigation panel, in a position to help to influence all navigation authorities, not just CRT.
