These are just some of around 100 boats which packed the banks of the Lee Navigation at Waltham Abbey on London's north eastern fringes for the Inland Waterways Association's annual Festival of Water. A blazing hot weekend - so hot that organisers were concerned that it might have put some of the public off going out, resulting in slightly disappointing visitor numbers - saw the site filled with craft stalls, canal society displays, music and entertainments, with a parade of illuminated boats and a Waterway Recovery Group 'Drive a digger' experience for the next generation of canal restorers.
