In the mid seventies the parents of a good friend owned a Dawncraft cruiser. Being teachers with long holidays they pootled along, taking their time, visiting everything mentioned in Nicholson's and lots more along the way. Come the week after the Easter and summer school holidays Son of Dawncraft pressed one or two of his mates with the King's Shilling to join him in returning the Dawncraft to its base or wherever his parents needed it next. These recovery trips normally took a week cruising 8-10 hours a day, with no time for extra-curricular sight-seeing.
