While having a test run in the narrow boat we were considering purchasing the engine overheated and stopped. The broker quickly diagnosed the problem: he had not turned on the raw water valve. But we took a chance, adjusted the price and bought her. The engine is a 1.5 BMC with a Bowman heat exchanger and a wet exhaust. She starts well and runs well but loses a pint of water every two hours.
