ZeroFlow: A PUB (Prediction in Ungauged Basins) Workshop on Temporary Streams - Summary of Workshop Discussions and Future Directions

The ZeroFlow workshop on Temporary Streams opened with an introduction by John Pomeroy, the Chair of the International Association of Hydrologi-cal Sciences (IAHS) Decade for Prediction in Ungauged Basins (PUB). PUB was characterized as an innovative movement to improve hydrological prediction in regions where streamflow measurements are sparse or do not exist. While considerable progress has been achieved during the PUB decade, Dr. Pomeroy highlighted that there is still a need for new strategies to improve both detailed process understanding and broad overall knowledge of hydro-logical systems. One hydrological system often overlooked by the scientific and practicing hydrological community is temporary streams.
