Despite the overabundance of lab-coats, soundproof cleanrooms, and virtually deafening silence, pharmaceutical manufacturers these days are much like other manufacturers in that they have become increasingly dependent on advanced, sophisticated MES (Manufacturing Execution System) software to boost manufacturing productivity day-in and day-out. At least that's the case with the Suffern, N.Y.-based Novartis Pharmaceutical Corporation, which is currently implementing the PAS-X manufacturing execution system recently installed by Werum America Inc. of Rockaway, N.J..
