Leading German medical device manufacturer Gerresheimer AG has launched what the company claims to be the world's first fully renewable plastic tablet packaging made from sugarcane. Unveiled at last month's Pharmapack Europe 2016 pharmaceutical industry exhibition in Paris, France, the new Biopack container features a distinct space-saving rectangular design to facilitate more efficient packaging for transportation, while its internal leaflet compartment (see picture) creates additional surface space on the outside to provide for more effective branding that would otherwise be used to print the required product information.
