On March 15, 1996, Jersey Canada launched its "web site" on the world Wide Web (www). For those of you interested in entering this new frontier, there are many possible ways to utilize this new technology to promote your farming business. Jersey Canada's goal is to develop a first class web site, one that is a source of information for the dairy industry, a marketing tool for the Jersey breed and individual breeders, and an interesting and educational place for all to visit. Plans for development of the site include: mutual linking to other sites: UBI, CJAQ, CGIL, ODHIC, other breed sites and dairy related organizations; developing an interactive guest book; hosting discussion areas, where a topic of interest would be discussed monthly, and recapped in the Breeder, creating the Dairy Farming Directory - listing farms in Canada and abroad; incorporating an entertainment section that relates to farming; updating press releases and late-breaking news weekly; listing Jersey Canada Directors; listing monthly ROPs and Excellents; providing news on how Jerseys are doing worldwide; featuring promotional items, such as the next collectors plate; and anything else we can do to promote Canadian Jerseys.
