The Cement Association of Canada (CAC), formerly the Canadian Portland Cement Association, represents 100% of cement producers across the country, that is, 9 cement companies operating 16 plants from coast to coast. Our members produce 13 million tonnes of cement annually and export roughly 40% of that production, mostly to the U.S. Our mandate is to expand the effective use of concrete and other cement-based solutions in Canada through three key functions: engineering and environmental science support, marketing and government affairs. The CAC is based in Ottawa with regional offices in Halifax, Montreal, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver. Since the Association was founded in 1966, it has been providing technical and engineering support to its members, the Canadian construction industry, and government, and working in partnership with the scientific research community.
