The House of Rothschild in Spain, 1812-1941

Miguel A. Lopez-Morell is a distinguished Spanish scholarly expert in the financial and industrial history of Spain in the nineteenth century and early decades of the twentieth century. This work is the English translation of a book he published, in Spanish, in 2005, with a summary of 10 years of research about the history of the investments of the House of Rothschild in Spain between 1812 and 1941. The prologue to the English edition honestly indicates this origin of the book, and the introduction is a good portrait of the passion this business historian has for the history of his country, and the history of banking in pre-modern times.
