This book claims to address topics involving family businesses that have been inadequately evaluated in the literature. The editors adopt a multidisciplinary approach to assess family businesses and the contributors to this volume of 17 chapters are experts in the areas of family therapy, anthropology, psychology, international business, sociology, wealth management, and strategy making. Their contributions deal with critical issues to ensure the survival and continuity of family firms. Systems theory is adopted to link the three main variables of family, management, and business. Through this framework and the contributors' empirical evidence and analyses, a compelling argument is made that such businesses can sustain themselves if they deal expeditiously and effectively with both family and business problems.
