Investigation Is Last Thing We Need

Andrew Braddock (Inside Track last month) hit the nail right on the head when he said that the Office of Fair Trading is about to conduct an expensive investigation into the blindingly obvious.rnWhy cannot we have a similar tariff system to Swiss cities in the UK? Surely it would not be that difficult to set up and it would certainly boost public transport use. What we do not need at the moment is the competition authorities producing yet another report about market share (no doubt complete with expensive glossy brochures), which is really only of interest to other civil servants, most of whom have never been on a bus outside London for years if at all.
