The p31 sidebar article in your December 2008 review of Euro Bus Expo brought back a memory. Edmonton Transit had 28 Willowbrook-bodied Daimler Roadliner SRC6s with the Cummins V6-200 engine. As you mentioned, the ones used here were scrapped prematurely. They overheated on a regular basis and did not stand up to the usual stop/start nature of city transit use. Complaints were common from the drivers about the inability to get back up to speed before it was time to pull over to the next stop. It is most unfortunate, as they were a cut above the GMC 'fishbowls' of the era for fit and finish, and had a richer looking interior than other makes of buses in use at the time. Overall, they looked less utilitarian than any of the other transit buses, especially with the lavish use chrome trim and large windows.
