Apropos recent comments on weight and how heavy buses have become, I had the idea that cars had got lighter only to find that they have not. A 1960s Ford Anglia weighs around 750kg; a current Fiesta around 970kg. like a present day bus, the Fiesta offers considerably more in terms of creature comforts. But unlike a present day bus it is also much more fuel-efficient than its equivalent of 50 years ago.
