Irvine's Coaches calls it a day

Irvine's Coaches of Law withdrew from local service operations at the beginning of August with little warning, after serving the village and surroundings for more than half a century. When he was called to a public inquiry on 1 August, proprietor Peter Irvine offered to surrender the operator licence immediately but the Scottish traffic commissioner turned this down on the basis that arrangements would need to be made to continue services.
