Senior municipal men retire at 65

Two senior municipal sector managers retired in April after long service in the bus industry. Nottingham City Transport engineering director Barry Baxter left after 10 years with the company, England's largest council-owned bus operation, and 50 in the industry. He started as a 1 5-year-old apprentice fitter with then independent West Riding Automobile Company in 1 962, spent 1 5 years from 1 976 with United Transport and latterly Stagecoach in Malawi and was with Stagecoach and Arriva in the UK before joining NCT.
