Capital investment push helps accelerate bus projects

Three major bus projects have been brought forward in the government's accelerated capital investment plans announced by Chancellor George Osborne on 29 November. These are the Manchester cross-city initiative, Bristol Bus Rapid Transit and expansion of park-&-ride in York. The last of these was among projects approved in principle by the Labour government a few months before the 2010 general election.
