Forward captures WMPTE's missing khaki rooftops

The latest releases of Forward Models' Birmingham 'Standard' double-deckers include a West Midlands PTE livery variation that has raised a few collectors' eyebrows. Forward's Derek Perry explains that the model of Guy Arab 3058 shows its Metro-Cammell body with a cream rather than khaki roof. He insists that this is no mistake, for it captures the bus operating not in Birmingham but on route 1 5 from Walsall, where the story goes that there was no khaki paint in stock. It also is in the lighter shade of blue adopted by the PTE on its formation in 1969.
