Founded: 1907 by Charles Fingland, a Rolls-Royce test driver, as Finglands Hire Cars & Bookings. Expanded from luxury limousines into coach hire and scheduled services in 1920s. Ran first coach with toilet and radio between Manchester and London, but sold London licences to North Western Road Car Company in 1 936. Finglands Airways began 1 949 with two Avro Anson aircraft used mainly for 'Combined Ops' with passengers driven from their homes in Manchester, flown to Newquay to join a Finglands coach holiday there.
