Newport Transport enters Chepstow

Newport Transport has registered three new Chepstow town services in competition with the established services run by Chepstow Classic Buses, using identical route numbers. The latter operator has run the services commercially since last April, using depreciated high-floor buses. On 21 January it was due to replace the three routes, as previously tendered by Monmouthshire County Council, with two routes numbered C1 and C3, to be operated with an Optare Solo and a short Alexander ALX200-bodied Dennis Dart SLF from Stagecoach South West.
