Museum secures Stagecoach Trident

Stagecoach has donated one of its first Dennis Tridents to the Museum of Transport Greater Manchester nearly 22 years after it was displayed there when new. It will eventually be restored to its original striped livery. Numbered 17612 for most of its working life and used latterly for driver training, Alexander ALX400-bodied T612 MNF was new in May 1999 as Stagecoach Manchester 612. It was the 145th two-axle Trident to be built and although Stagecoach had taken 90 into its East London fleet by then, this was the first built for operation in one of its regional fleets.
