There is an option on a further 33 vehicles in a possible second phase. The seven Hess SwissTrolley/Kiepe trolleybuses on 8.8km route 1 were bought new in 2011. They will be upgraded with battery packs to enable in-motion charging and boost off-wire operation. Around a third of the overhead will be dismantled.
