Preserved VR has 1980s West Yorkshire livery

The preserved West Yorkshire Road Car Bristol VR illustrated in last month's Preservation Update is in a livery adopted following deregulation and is not in the pre-1972 livery.As the caption states, this bus dates from 1980 and was new in National Bus Company red and white. Following deregulation in 1986, West Yorkshire adopted a Tilling-style red and cream and the fleetname seen on the preserved bus. The red was a slightly brighter shade thangenuine Tilling red and the fleetname was a style not used by West Yorkshire for many years. The last pre-NBC style used simple capital letters without underlining or enlarged first and last letters.
