Combi-road: A new logistical concept for the transport of containers

Combi-Road is a new logistical concept for the transport of containers, translated in technical terms into an automated mode of road transport in congested areas and supported by an implementation strategy. In the Combi-Road concept each container on a semi-trailer is pulled along by an automated verhicle. The vehicle combinations are electrically driven and travel along specially designed tracks. At inland transfer stations the containers are passed on to traditional road transport.
