Simplified On-line Geothermal Steam Purity Monitoring Systems

摘要

Steam derived from geothermal sources typically contains impurities that can deleteriously affect power plant equipment via scaling, erosion and corrosion. Minimization of steam impurities through the use of separators, steam washing, scrubbers, demisters and strainers ensures high plant efficiency and reduced operation and maintenance costs. Steam purity and quality monitoring is essential to smooth and efficient plant operations. Grab samples are most commonly employed to monitor steam purity and quality, and steam impurity removal efficiency. In recent years, continuous on-line steam purity monitoring systems, based on particle impact/flow and flame photometric chemical analysis, were developed. Simple and cheap alternative methods for continuous on-line steam purity monitoring are described in this article.
