Making a Difference

As I come to the end of my presidency of the Geothermal Resources Council (GRC), I look back at the last two years as pivotal to geothermal development. The U.S. electric industry is restructuring for competitive power sales, and governments around the world are privatizing power generation and distribution. As corporate geothermal budgets have suffered, so have staff levels—and GRC membership. But recent events in both energy markets and the political arena promise to quickly turn this situation around, to the benefit of both geothermal development and the GRC.
