Drawing the Line

In the face of a grinding war in Iraq, hurricane disasters at home, and spiraling entitlement spending, rumors are flying about Washington, DC that the Bush Administration intends to dramatically cut spending for renewable energy research and energy efficiency initiatives at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Indeed, some say that the administration is contemplating phasing out the agency's wind, geothermal, and concentrating solar programs in Fiscal Year (FY) 2007.
