Geological survey of Queensland: New geophysical data released for Queensland’s north west mineral province

Data for the Cloncurry Northairborne magnetic and radiometricsurvey were released on QDEX Datain February 2019. The survey consistsof over 100 000 line km of data thatwas acquired at 100 m line spacingwith a 50 m terrain clearance andprovides new high-resolutioncoverage in the area to the north ofCloncurry.The Cloncurry North survey bordersthe 2017 Cloncurry South surveyand a merge of the two providesa seamless coverage over theapproximately 20 000 km2 area.Both new surveys show a markedimprovement in data qualitycompared to the previous Mount IsaMines Open Range survey acquiredin the 1990s. The products of theCloncurry North survey are currentlybeing used within the GSQ to updatethe solid geology and structuralinterpretations of the northern MaryKathleen domain.
