Temporal patterns of fish recruitment on a fringing coral reef in virgin islands national park, st. John, U. S. virginislands

Patterns of distribution and abundance of reef fishes depend on settlement of pelagic larvae, on survival of new recruits, and on subsequent dispersal of juveniles among habi- tats. Recruitment is highly variable over space and time and profoundly influences the adult component of the fish assemblage structure.
