In July 2009, Northern Lighthouse Board engineers commissioned the final aids to navigation to be installed on the decommissioned Frigg and MCP01 offshore structures in the North Sea. Designated "Rigwatchers", these aids to navigation are self-contained air-portable units designed for a four-year maintenance cycle. Units will be exchanged for service without manned intervention on the structures utilising helicopter long-line lifting of the aids to navigation to and from a vessel on station. The decommissioning process for Frigg ran over a period of seven years and in its final season saw the removal of the last topsides on MCP01, CDPI and TPI platforms.%Cet article nous vient du directeur du développement des affaires du Northern Lighthouse Board d'Ecosse (NLB).
