17th I ALA Conference Cape Town 21 st to 27th March 2010

The 17th IALA Conference - Aids to Navigation - A global approach, all waters, all risks, all solutions - was held from 22nd to 27th March 2010 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, South Africa, co-hosted by Transnet National Ports Authority. The conference was attended by 409 delegates, plus many staff from the host country. Delegates represented 59 countries, of which 45 were IALA national members.rnThe event provided an opportunity for presentations and discussions on issues ranging from the concept of virtual aids to navigation through risk assessment and management to the application of future technologies. An excellent exhibition was included, with 36 industrial members providing an opportunity to view the latest developments in aids to navigation and related technology and services.
