Since the last Council meeting in June, the world has still been in the grip of the COVID-19 Pandemic and the Staff has continued all the precautionary measures to avoid further transmission of the virus in our domain. These measures have involved the cancellation or postponement, as appropriate, of meetings, and halting the staff's travel for the purpose of conducting missions. The Secretariat with the support of the PAP has implemented special working arrangements for virtual meetings of the Committees and other subsidiary bodies of IALA. These working arrangements are uniform across all committees and are extraordinary in nature due to exceptional circumstances that prohibit face-to-face meetings in the usual manner. Similar arrangements will be used for the meetings at least until summer 2021 if the situation does not improve.
