57th and 58th sessions of the IALA Council

As it is customary during Conference years, the IALA Council held two sessions during the Conference, one to terminate the working period now ending, and one to elect the new IALA President andVice President, and the Finance and Audit Committee, for the new four year working period. The 57th session was held on 25 May 2014 under the Chairmanship of David Gordon, South Africa, IALA President. Twenty one Councillors were in attendance. The Secretary General gave a brief report on IALA activities since the last session, which included five international meetings, progress made towards an IALA change of status, preparation work for the Conference and its associated meetings, and the publication of the 2013 Annual Report.The Council was presented with the 2013 audited financial statements, showing a well-managed organization and a satisfactory level of funds.
