Service Transport Company boosts empty-mile pay for drivers

Service Transport Company is adjusting its company driver compensation package. Effective since June 19, all company drivers will see an 18.4% increase in Service Transport's empty mileage rate as a result of feedback received from professional drivers in a recent survey. The driver-pay adjustment is Service Transport's second in less than a year. "We are very happy to be able to accomplish this," said Wade Harrison, president of Service Transport, in a letter to company drivers. Harrison said he was happy with the number of survey responses they received, and many company drivers mentioned empty-mile pay as a concern. "Our drivers spoke, and we listened," Harrison said. "(The adjustment) will be applied to all levels of drivers, regardless of seniority or driver type (local, regional or over the road).
