Russian authorities are taking steps to protect the country's Pacific harbours and nearby inhabitants from the harmful effects of coal handling. Rosmorport, the federal seaport agency, has threatened to terminate the Commercial Seaport of Nakhodka's contract of location if it does not significantly reduce air and water pollutions.
