New grain terminals on Amur River

China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) has developed a concept for a 0.4 Mtpa terminal with 100,000t of one-time crop storage to be built on the banks of the Amur River, a natural Sino-Russian border, at the Russian regional centre of Khabarovsk. The new port facility would handle grain and other agricultural goods produced in Russia's Far Eastern regions, to be delivered to China and other Asia-Pacific countries, according to Leonid Petuk-hov, director general of Russia's Far East Investment and Export Agency (FEIEA).
