Hamburg shipbuilder J J Sietas has secured an order for a 28,000 dwt self-unloader equipped with a BMH Marine C-con-veyor for Jebsens. The vessel, to be named SANDNES, is scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2005 and will be similar to STONES, delivered by the same yard earlier this year. Jebsens currently operates seven relatively small self-unloading bulkers ranging from 8700 dwt to 12,000 dwt plus the 1990-built trimnes of 17,300 dwt. All the ships are equipped with a Stephens Adamson gravity unloader system feeding a vertical conveyor to the deck shuttle conveyor.
