More ore reserves in India

In what could provide welcome respite to domestic steelmakers, Geological Survey of India (GSI) has found new iron ore reserves of more than 22mt in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka states. State-run GSI has found four blocks at Namakhal in Tamil Nadu with reserves of 14.03 mt of magnetite ore with ferrous content ranging between 31 and 37%, according to Mines Ministry officials.
