With supplies of wheat worldwide remaining tight, and the UK's own exportable surplus down on 2005, David Sheppard, managing director of Gleadell Agriculture, jointly owned by the Hamburg-headquartered Alfred C Toepfer and Paris-based Union Invivo, says prices for wheat are averaging £30/t higher than in 2005.
