Yara North America (YNA) recently broke ground for its Gateway Terminal in the Port of Stockton, California, which will consist of an 80,000t storage warehouse for dry bulk fertiliser and a terminal for seven different products, including NPKs, calcium nitrate and urea. The facility, expected to be fully operational by the spring of 2009, is being built by Stueve Construction, a company that has developed more than 100 specialised fertiliser storage and distribution facilities in the US. Stueve's VP Jack Burns said the Yara project in Stockton will be the largest his company has undertaken.
